Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

The short version: MatchCaller does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app works fully offline, and everything you enter or record stays on your device. One optional feature (custom name announcements) sends the names you type to our voice service, and only with your explicit consent - see below.

This Privacy Policy explains how the MatchCaller mobile app (“MatchCaller”, “the app”, “we”) handles information. MatchCaller is a courtside scorekeeping app for racket and net sports, provided by Apex Strategic Unipessoal Lda.

Information we collect

None, by default. MatchCaller has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no analytics. It does not show ads and does not use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs. We do not receive any information about you or your use of the app, with one exception you control: the optional custom name announcements feature described below.

Information stored on your device

To do its job, MatchCaller stores the following locally on your device only:

This information never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party. You can delete it at any time by deleting individual matches in the app or by uninstalling the app.

Permissions

MatchCaller does not request location, contacts, camera, or microphone access. Apart from the optional custom name announcements feature below, it does not transmit data over the internet.

Watch connections (optional, off by default)

MatchCaller can show the live score on nearby smartwatches running the MatchCaller watch companion. When you turn Watch connections on, your phone or tablet advertises a short session code over Bluetooth so watches can find it, and connected watches receive the live score plus any player or team names you have entered - that is all that crosses the link. Everything stays on your devices: nothing is sent to us or to any third party over that connection. The feature is off by default, and the Bluetooth permission is used only for scoring remotes and watch connections - never for location.

Sharing a result

If you use the in-app Share feature, your device's standard share sheet opens and you choose where to send the image. MatchCaller itself does not upload or transmit the shared content anywhere.

Links to retailers

Our website may link to third-party retailers (for example, to buy a Bluetooth remote), and some links may be affiliate links. Those are links on our website, not in the app, and the app itself contains no tracking. Visiting a retailer is subject to that retailer's own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

MatchCaller is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Other people's names

If you enter the names of opponents or partners, those names are stored only on your device and are never shared with us or anyone else - unless you turn on custom name announcements, in which case only the names themselves are sent as described below.

Custom name announcements (optional, off by default)

If you use the MatchCaller announcer voice, the app can announce custom player and team names in that same voice. Because those audio clips are generated on demand, this feature - and only this feature - uses the internet:

Changes to this policy

If MatchCaller later adds optional cloud features (such as accounts or backup/sync), this policy will be updated and any data handling will be clearly disclosed and made optional. Until then, the app remains fully local and offline.
